For holidays or investment, home is still better than away

Despite claims the British property market is in the doldrums buying holiday or investment properties in this country looks set to continue to be the trend in 2018.

Investors are cautious about buying in Europe following the Brexit vote, according to our co-owner Chris Hall.

Chris, who runs our exclusive community of luxury holiday homes, beach cottages and surf lodges with his wife, Mary and their two children, Amy and Alex, explains: “We’re getting more interest in our properties already this year and have seen an increase in enquiries compared to the same time last year, so it seems for the moment that Brexit has had a positive impact on businesses like ours.

“A lot of the people who are coming to us have been put off buying in Europe because they are concerned about the ramifications of leaving the EU and other things like the recent civil unrest in Spain, which made for a dramatic year on the continent in 2017. People are naturally very wary this year too especially as Britain’s role in the EU still remains very uncertain.”

We’re fronted by a two-mile sandy beach and have stunning panoramic coastal views across Bideford Bay to Lundy Island.
