Explore North Devon’s Heritage Coast in luxury

We think North Devon’s Heritage Coast has yet to receive the recognition it deserves.

This area of Devon and its amazing seascape is often overlooked by visitors preferring to go on into Cornwall, but it’s a great place full of hidden gems and somewhere off the beaten track to explore.

Our coastline is in the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covering 171 km2 of coastal landscape from Marsland Mouth on the Cornish border to Combe Martin on the edge of Exmoor and includes the Hartland Heritage Coast, the North Devon Heritage Coast and Braunton Burrows.

But if that wasn’t enough, when you stay here you can also enjoy stunning panoramic coastal views across Bideford Bay to Lundy Island and the South West Coast Path, which is Britain’s longest national trail for walkers, is close by too.

For those who are more adventurous, Westward Ho! is a focal point for surfers. There are designated surfing areas and the RNLI Lifeguard service is available from May to September.

We’re an exclusive community of luxury holiday homes, beach cottages and surf lodges and is fronted by a two-mile, sandy, Blue Flag beach.

We’re first and foremost a beautiful holiday village and it commands one of the most picturesque sea front positions imaginable. Those that come here have a passion for the area and a love for the scenery, which is paramount.

We offer luxury accommodation for those wishing to escape the hurly burly of everyday life and to unwind in a truly tranquil location with stunning scenery all year round. There’s a slower pace of life here but there’s also plenty to see and do, and our visitors are never bored. You can go for lovely long or short walks or just sit still and enjoy the gorgeous views and breathe in the fresh, coastal air.

We have a variety of self-catering holiday homes to suit every budget, from standard accommodation to luxury two-storey homes looking out to sea and provides the perfect base for a short break or family holiday.

Visitors here can also enjoy direct access to the beach and are close to historic places of interest and to various wildlife and birdwatching spots.

Westward Ho’s shops and eateries are a short stroll away and we’re centrally located for many north Devon family attractions and places of interest.
